How long will the republican fallout last?

12 11 2008

The infighting and blame game has officially started.  Congressmen who lost their seats are all over network news blaming everything but themselves for their huge loss.  Sarah Palin is excited to be the only republican still in the national spotlight.  Her interviews all answer the same question:  Will she run again?  “If God opens that door, I will”, I think she should consider the slim chance of getting RNC funding.

The netroots movement that beat the party looks like the first thing they are trying to get a handle on.  A new site rebuildtheparty.com is an open forum for repubs to sound off about what they think the problem is.  Many people claim Trucknuts would help the party get back on point, while embracing more liberal ideas is a strong second.

The best interview I had on election night came from a former republican voter who said he cut ties with the party when they “became the party of big business and small minds.” A profound statement that helps explain the public disdain for the parties talking points.  The fearmongering that has convinced people to stand in line for the past eight years is hopefully on its way out.  Bad economic times can show a party to the door, no matter what platform got you there.  The Hearatige Foundation has had panel daily panel discussions airing on CSPAN which have ammountd to lots of emotional yelling and cries of “socialism”

Joe Scarborough lost his cool yesterday and dropped the F bomb.  More infighting fun is sure to come tomorrow.

Click here to complain to the FCC about Morning Joe, the more we complain the bigger the fine.
